Join us for an afternoon at the movies! Wesley Memorial UMC, St. Luke AMEZ Church, and
Warner Temple AMEZ Church are joining together to go to the movies!

The Best of Enemies chronicles a true story in North Carolina. In 1971, Durham mom, Ann Atwater, is paired with a Ku Klux Klan leader, C.P. Ellis, to chair a charette to find solutions to keep kids safe in the midst of the tumultuous desegregation of schools. (A charette is a ten-day process of daily community meetings meant to find solutions to community issues.) Throughout her life, Ann Atwater worked to empower poor and marginalized people to work together to create the change we want to see in our communities.

After the movie, Pastor Beth, Rev. Jermaine Armour, and Rev. Dr. Clifford Barnette will lead a discussion of the movie's themes. Ann Atwater's legacy is one to create a place where surprising friendships become possible. How can we create more surprising friendships?

This exciting movie event will replace Wesley Youth for the afternoon. Some youth and families are planning to stay in The Pointe and have dinner afterward. You are welcome to join us!

Please RSVP by April 3rd.
